Hi my name is Luis, I reside near Hobby Airport in a subdivision called Sky Scraper Shadows. I'm 10 minutes from Tom Bass park and I have been at the RC facility on a couple of occasions, just to check it out.
I have never flown using such a facility and now that I have had plenty of rebbel flying, using emtpy acreage here and there, I think it's time to fly with other people. Frankly, I find it boring to fly by myself now. So, last night... late last night I applied and bought my AMA Lic. I have my receipt and I'm ready to try my first outing to Tom Bass Field.
I have been in the hobby of fixed wing aircraft for a year now. I have experience using Real Flight G.4 and Aero Flight Pro for that long too. I started this hobby with a Honey Bee 2, that frankly gave up on after many, many days of trying to hover. Super glued the hell out of it, till weeks later I retireed it to my closet.
Now, I have been making my own airplanes out of foam. Mostly FFF or Dow Fan Fold Foam from Lowes or A's Hardware. They are a lot easier to repair or rebuild. Costs almost nothing to repair and you can build almost any design out there. I have over 100 pdf plans I could choose from and at the momment, I fly a 32in. profile thrust vectoring Mig-29. I also fly a clone I made from an E-Flight Funtana300, that's a very easy flier and aerobat.
So, would anybody mind showing me the ropes of using the facility?
I'm new to flying of off any such place and don't want to make an ass out of myslef. I would realy appreciate it if someone would help a guy like me. I'm open for input and suggestions. I have never flown infront of people that are in the hobby too, so I would probably feel a little weird at first. My airplanes have never weight more than 18 oz.
I belong to several forums and on those I go by the same Nick as here.. Cdr. Instigator
I have used the same Nick since Windows 95 and my Combat Flight Simulator days. I have been into simulators and airplanes since my Navy days on 87/91. In 90 was when I first started using computers and have seen a lot of flight simulators come and go. Mostly Jet sims.

Thank you very much Wendy, for the welcome. I will try and make it out there today after work. If not for sure Saturday and or Sunday.. I hear you guys are real cool. so I don't expect to be shuned or run off because of my home made, simple, crash and rebuild, all day fun fly... foamies..
But, for now, this is what I fly... nothing fancy all less then 18oz.
